Assalamualaikum...i'm glad to share with you about developing research idea to writing a proposal...it's a good way for us to start especially novice researcher...enjoy it (",)v

How you find a researchable topic?
1. Identify a general area in which you want to do..make sure you really2 fall in luv in this area...
2. Come up with a research question and hypothesis (it's juz like a driver in your research)

Then...select a general topic area first.
1. Shop around: get know the faculty member, read about their work & see what their interest.
2. Criteria: it must interest you and your SV (spend time on writing,reading and so on).

Next..identify an area.
1. What topic interest you?
2. What do u find yourself stopping to read in the library?
3. What academic topic come up frequently when u are talking shop with other students and faculty?
4. Identify faculty & share these interest u might ask if they have a project for your thesis?

But...remember...
Better to choose a slightly engrossing area that a faculty will support than an exotic one that only u find fascinating...AVOID DOING IT ALONE...develop ideas in conjunction with your SV.

Ok..now we learn about developing research question..
1. Forget your FORM...identify the source of such question.
2. Ask question that interest the scientific community.
3. Not because there is a lack of research on a topic.
4. Keep in mind that it should have a place in the literature..follow the trend.

Source of idea.
The best
1. Research that u are already doing.
2. Suggestion from faculty.
3. Research often stimulates more questions than answer.

The worst
1. Own personal experience, something with a degree of personal emotional relevance.
2. But...if u can approach then (the ideas) objectively in a detached, relatively, disinterested and unbiased manner..juz go ahead.

Last but not least...u have to read..read..read
1. Existing literature as a source of ideas (the simplest and logical place).
2. Suggestion for future research...
    - Discuss with your SV.
    - Contact the original author and find out what he/she doing currently in the area.
    - Ask the author whether he/she has already researched it..
